Zantac

zantac lawsuits pennsylvania

In 2019 the common heartburn medication Zantac came under fire as it was alleged to contain a carcinogen and was linked to numerous types of cancer in patients who took Zantac for at least 6 months. As Zantac is one of the most common over the counter and prescription medications in America the Zantac cancer lawsuits are piling up quickly. Drug stores such as CVS, Walgreen’s, Walmart pharmacies, CostCo. and others have all pulled Zantac from their shelves and in April 2020 the FDA issued a Zantac recall. The cancers linked to Zantac are bladder cancer, liver cancer, stomach cancer, kidney cancer, colon cancer, colo-rectal cancer, esophageal cancer, intestinal cancer, testicular cancer (in adults and children), breast cancer, pancreatic cancer and prostate cancer. If you have been diagnosed with any type of cancer and have a documented history of taking Zantac or the generic form ranitidine please contact our Kennett Square, Pennsylvania attorneys handling Zantac lawsuits statewide. How Does Zantac Cause Cancer?

Ranitidine, which is the generic form of the antacid Zantac, contains the carcinogen NDMA which stands for N-Nitrosodimethylamine. This contaminant is very hepatotoxic (toxic to the liver) and is a known carcinogen. Levels of NDMA in medications are typically low but they may be higher than the acceptable levels by the FDA.
